In a remarkable turn of events, an American Catholic bishops’ video denouncing the Trump-Vance administration’s immigration raids is going viral across the United States and the entire globe.

The clip — featuring American bishops speaking directly to camera — has been seen over 5 million times through official and unofficial channels, a number climbing by the hour.

In it, the bishops delivers an impassioned moral appeal, at one point declaring, “we oppose the indiscriminate mass deportation of people. We pray for an end to dehumanizing rhetoric and violence, whether directed at immigrants or at law enforcement.”

Those simple, powerful words — spoken with conviction and carried on a wave of online shares — have struck a chord far beyond the Church’s walls.

This will perhaps be the most-watched Catholic video ever in America, a sign that the bishops’ message is resonating in a way few expected. From Statement to Sensation

The viral video is based on the written statement U.S. bishops released earlier this week — a text that by itself was historic.

Meeting in Baltimore, the bishops approved a rare “Special Message” on immigration that condemned the government’s “indiscriminate mass deportation of people,” and the resolution enjoyed nearly unanimous support.
