I'm not sure how well it's known outside of the UK, but over the summer nationalists here started putting up the St. Geroge's Cross flag around towns and painting it onto roundabouts. It's clearly being done as a sign that non-white people aren't welcome (some of them have targeted mosques) , with the usual plausible deniability so they can claim that anyone against them just hates England.

This could be completely coincidental, but I really hope it was done by a nationalist too dumb to see the negative connotations.
