in preparation and support for the for the mandarin millenium, im totally gonna choose a chinese name. ive noticed many native speakers of far east languages tend to struggle with my name's pronounciation, and why not bypass all that?
i see those articles for choosing a chinese name. any tips to not come across like this person in the selection?
Ask native speakers for feedback on xhs or something?
rule 1, don't do like 75% of foreigners in the mandosphere and pick something like "blue dragon" or similar. as suggested below, get a native speaker to suggest something. however, very likely in daily conversation you would just be called 大/小/阿+one syllable from your name
do you think Lost Odyssey is better?
if my name is also a regular word, is it generally acceptable to just use the translated word? i've never thought to ask
If you are lucky you're name already has a direct translation. Mine is 海顿
Check out it on Google translate or pleco
