It being high profile might be why you feel that way. If you pay close enough attention it’s easy to see this Cuomo campaign is far more abysmal. At least Hillary looked like the favorite all along going into election night

Hillary employed the pied piper strategy to prop up Trump while snubbing Bernie in the primary because she thought Trump would be the easiest to win against.
