Imagine its the USA commiting genocide and bombing Mexico or something, and you do not support the actions of your country but your family is only alive because of the iron dome protecting you from the bombs that are just flying over your heads between these two countries.

Your family, which neither country cares about, is who AOC and other people like us are thinking of.

We are not in favor of either country-- we are on the side of humanity.

Imagine you're in Mexico during that situation and watching people who support the US genocide feign neutrality and then claim they're on the side of humanity.

I have been in that situation, since one of the most powerful cartels in the nation burnt down my home resulting in the death of my older sister.

The problem with such conflicts is that there's no clear simple solution because the perpetrators (in my case and Gaza) feed off immense amounts of American weapons and money, both political, corporate, and dark.

It takes a lot of imperfect efforts to starve the beast, and MTG is not gonna offer any such opportunities.

So wait, you support the USA arming the cartels?

The USA both fed the cartels and also trained and armed the Mexican Marines that combat them.

Is that ideal? Of course the fuck not.

Ideally, you would not have fucking meddled with our country or any other for that matter.

But what is done is done, and if you stop funding to the various programs put in place to combat the cartels, the cartels ain't fucking going anywhere until you dumb nuts finally ban guns-- and well, I don't see that happening any time soon.

I support people understanding that conflicts are far more nuanced and difficult to resolve than one would think.

But the analogy here was to continuing arming Israel. Why have you switched to supporting arming anti-cartel programs when the original analogy was funding the cartels.

Do you or do you not support the US continuing to arm the cartels?

I support people understanding that conflicts are far more nuanced and difficult to resolve than one would think.

You would have said the same about the Holocaust.

These arguments are so disingenuous.

None of us have any clue about the nuances within the bills being proposed, unless we actually take the time to read them-- which most of us have not.

All I'm trying to argue is that AOC has a right to be concerned about an amendment because she is thinking of the unintended consequences behind the proposals.

Of course I want Israel to receive zero fucking dollars from the US, but I am thinking of our pull out from Afghanistan and all the fucking allies left behind to die.

There's enough intelligence in the room to come up with something that doesn't lead to more deaths.
