If you think about it, he truly is the voice of the Democratic Party.
He really is. Ran the most expensive Senate campaign ever (at the time), got absolutely bodied by an elderly neocon who is unpopular even among his base. But the consultants and advertisers made money, and that's what really matters, isn't it?
IIRC he lost to Lindsay Graham (can't be arsed spelling his name) by something like 8 pcts. despite the entire republican party hating him, and the entire democratic party giving Harrison something like 90 million dollars to spend on a state with less than 3 million voters.
