They also found levels of Pfos – a banned carcinogenic Pfas – in fish were on average 322 times higher than planned limits for wildlife.

You can just look at previous planetary crisises that were addressed, and just ask the question "what if we hadn't done anything?" to use the example leaded gas and CFCs: planetary devastation within a human lifetime. With CO2 emissions and PFAs, we're taking the FAFO route.
