This is why I think we need to be speaking in terms of "planetary crisis" rather than "climate change", because the changing climate is only half of it. We're already annihilating the biosphere without cranking the temperature up, and even if we magically dropped CO2 to pre-industrial levels, we'd still be staring down the barrel of a severe crisis.

You can just look at previous planetary crisises that were addressed, and just ask the question "what if we hadn't done anything?" to use the example leaded gas and CFCs: planetary devastation within a human lifetime. With CO2 emissions and PFAs, we're taking the FAFO route.

I like the term polycrisis. Climate change is such a broad socioecological thing that it can't be challenged without a really intersectional effort. It's as much a feminist and anticolonial struggle as it is anticapitalist and environmentalist.
