I mean if you had to get right up next to someone to stab or bludgeon them to death, you wanna at least look fucking cool as shit while you do it.
Also being brightly decorated in your side's colors surely help your own dudes from not stabbing or bludgeoning you because they can't see too well out of their helmet.
Let's add tons of brightly colored tape around the helmet and arms to make sure we can tell who our guys are...
If thermal sensors and such get widespread enough that camo becomes completely useless then we might see colorful uniforms again :D
I feel like they would just make camo that hides you on those sensors while also hiding you from the naked human eye.
Correct, already exists and is used and is very effective.
