And that’s basically it!
Planes issue horrible chemicals that cause all kinds of issues. Carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, etc.
My understanding is that these bills would make that illegal. That's good.
Pretty sure that the actual components of airline exhaust would be considered legal. They wouldn't just ban all fossil fuel powered flight, they just want to ban the non-existant mind-control/climate manipulation they think the airplanes are doing.
Coming soon: Non-toxic Chemtrail $tate Certifications. Fly here, pay here.
That's not how the legislation read in Florida. It banned all planes that emit chemicals.
Key phrase being "for the express purpose..."
Sorry, what's the express purpose of emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere?
There's not an express purpose of the emissions, the emissions are a side effect of combusting to propel the aircraft.
These people think that jet contrails are like, mind control chemicals being sprayed by airplanes flying over. That's what they're trying to ban, something that isn't even happening.
I understand. But I'll take any climate improving legislation I can get.
This legislation doesn't even do that.
How so? The one in Florida banned all planes.
Banning planes has a huge benefit for the climate. And encourages train travel.
It does not ban all planes, it specifically bans "geoengineering and weather modification activities."
Oh. The Florida one blocked all planes emitting chemicals. Importantly not excluding carbon dioxide a nd other GHGs
