Hello everyone. This week I've been playing more Balatro and Nightreign. I've now completed 50% of all decks in Balatro, and just need to find one more joker for 100% collection. Hope everyone has a good week ahead

Still on Deltarune. I've been at the end of chapter 3 for a couple of days because work has been preventing me fromputting in the time it takes to beat the second secret boss. The Roaring Knight makes Jevil and Spamton NEO look like child's play, he feels like he's from another game entirely.

After getting the secrets in Chapter 3 I gotta say Toby has mastered the art of making a video game creepypasta. There's a part where you have to kill the digital versions of Susie and Ralsei to advance that made me audibly gasp, and then the way that quest breaks its own internal fourth wall at the end is so cool. I remember the Five Nights at Freddys games having similar segments to this one, but those don't even hit 1% as hard as the Deltarune one does.

Loved Tenna as a villain, and loved the gameplay of this whole section, but it's a bit of a bummer that there's not as much to explore. I did almost all of the steps to find the secret egg just by exploring naturally and talking to everyone, the only one that surprised me was running away from the trash can enemy because that idea seemed to come completely out of left field, though I suppose it was more interesting than just having another secret area between two other areas.

I like to see Susie kinda stepping up more and more as a heroic type as the story goes on, and here on chapter 3 there's shades of revolution to it, where the prevailing ideology (sniff) is that darkners are just objects and they need to accept that, but she's pushing against that assumption and proposing the creation of a new and more just world. It's still unclear whether the game will treat her as being right to think this way or wrong because she's just trying to cling to a fantasy, but I hope it breaks the first way and the status quo of the dark/light worlds gets changed for the better by the end of the story.

The other stuff in the story is mostly just okay. Tenna being motivated by Kris and his family getting older and not watching him as much is exactly what I figured his motivation would be from the jump, so no surprises there. There's some more Dess stuff to find which continues to be sad in exactly the way that an old lost relative is.

The humor didn't hit as often for me in Chapter 3 as it did previously. I don't know if that's because I've changed in the past few years or if it's just because the chapter doesn't have as many jokes, but I did nearly fall out of my chair when both me and Susie set our names to ASS at the beginning of the game show. The !$%^ Squad is just on that wavelength I guess.
