I got into bullet journaling a few weeks ago. I looked at a bunch of resources that went into detail, but I felt like I didn't have the big picture. The Absolute Ultimate Guide covers the motivation, what bullet journaling is all about, and details for getting started quickly, all in one relatively short post.

Interesting read. I've tried most of those, and most didn't stick for me. I've been using the emblems for a long, long time, and I highly recommend finding a set that work for you. As for the manual numbering, I just buy journals that are prenumbered and with index pages. Helps a lot. I really like the threading idea, though, and I'm going to give that a go.
