South Texas checking in: I've seen a couple banana trees just growing around town. From what I understand, they taste like chalk.

They grow just fine even up here in North Texas. They just don't fruit well, and like you mentioned, if they happen to, it's ass.

texas is missing an opportunity to genetically engineer a banana that's slightly larger than typical commodity bananas and market them as texas bananas.

People grow bananas in the Seattle area.

It's a lot of work and they're completely inedible. But it can be done.

Banana trees are also a great way to get tarantulas in your house. Tarantulas fucking love bananas, and they’ll find their way inside after the tree attracts them to your yard.

Did someone say “tarantula?”

Tarantulas do not wanna mess with humans though. Not a great surprise to find one around but I wouldn't be worried about them.

I already have palm-sized trapdoor spiders that I find dead all over the place when the weather drastically changes. I've only ever found one seemingly healthy one in my house, so I scooped it up, thanked it for coming to visit me, and then placed it outside before the home insecticide could kill it. A found a dead one next to my car in the garage that morning—I don't know if it was my friend or one of his friends... Dude had some big ol' boxing gloves.

Walmart might have success by buying them up and selling them as FreedomChalknanas.
