Collapse

This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.
Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

MODERATORS
So, this ~~sub~~ community will be… collapsing?
No, this is not how federation works. The content will remain accessible. It is just annoying for those who used the lemm.ee instance directly. To people like me, who will now have to find a new home base.
Isn’t that just for content already posted that it will stay hosted on other instances? I thought for sending new posts it won’t federate as there’s nothing to “catch” the post?
Yes, we will have to find a new instance to post to in future. Most annoying, but unavoidable.
It was a pun…
Too subtle! They would have caught "sinking".
The endless jokes about /r/collapse and /c/collapse collapsing are so terribly original.
The name of the ~~sub~~ community is literally "collapse"…
OK joke's on me
PS was assuming clever reference to the Titanic sub
PPS: the Titanic SUBMARINE
Wait—how do we call sub~~reddits~~ again on Lemmy?

Thanks!
