"Why can't you be normal!?" Ummm why can't you be weird?

This is a daily post for “casual” conversation. If you want to post or talk about something non autism related this is where to do it. For example if you want to info dump about your special interest but it doesn’t fall into “autism related” then you can post it here in the comments. It depends on the age of the person. Babies and toddlers are generally tested by physicians and specialist focusing on eye contact and mirroring behavior. Older children are usually diagnosed by a mental health professional such as a therapist, or psychologist. Adults may find an informal test online if they suspect they are autistic. And in many cases if an adult does not already have a therapist, they may seek one out for a formal diagnosis. I'm not an expert and this is a very general overview.
