every time i bring up the DNC railroading Bernie in 2016, i get brigaded by status quo idiots
They did the same in 2020 then did away with all pretenses of input in 2024 and just told us who the candidate was going to be
...controlled oppostion doesn't sound as dirty, does it...?
Hate to defend them, but that’s not really an accurate portrayal of what happened in 2024.
Biden should have announced he wasn’t running and allowed the primary process to play out. If he hadn’t, then the DNC should have overridden him. It’s unbelievable that they didn’t anticipate or care that Trump would win again.
It was a pretty convenient way for them to hand pick a nominee. Given how the last two played out I don't think that's an unfair lens to view the situation through.
They really wanted Biden to win it and immediately step down for his illness that they all knew he had so that Kamala could take over without having to run herself. They knew she wouldn't win a primary, but it was her turn after all.
Biden's disaster debate ruined that plan and Kamala's mishandled campaign doomed them.
I'm sorry that bringing up how absolutely not even close both of those primaries were makes me an idiot.
It's almost like they were, until the Democrats put their fingers on the scale. Weird how that turned out.
Oh yeah those Democrats, hurting democracy by...
convincing 14 million more people to vote for them...?
You mean the same Democrats that refuse to have an actual democratic primary? The ones that openly said in court that they rigged things in favor of their preferred candidates? Yes, they are hurting democracy.
So it's only democratic if you like the outcome?
No, it's democratic if the voters get to decide. If those in charge get to decide, it's undemocratic, like the DNC.
Here's a quick guide on how Democracy works. If you read it first, we can both save time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy
Look at who won the popular votes in the primaries. It wasn't even fucking close!
As soon as you go back, and read what I've already written, I'll continue this conversation
You're free to go, man, you've established quite well that you only believe in democracy if it suits you.
