This person was being completely fair. European militarism is just a way to funnel more public money into the military industrial complex. The war hysteria is ridiculous.
The only sector where Europe always somehow "finds the money" is "defense".
He was only stating facts

I just thought I'd let you know FuckyWucky (and @[email protected] and @[email protected]), in case you found it amusing like I did, is that your comments along with most other replies in this thread were "removed by mod." Sort of. See, what's funny is that it looks like federation is a little bit buggy here because the comment removals didn't work for most other instances. They're still up and visible (just not on lemm.ee) despite the mod removing every single comment that had any sense of reality in it. lol
I also wanted to see if the cowardly mod of this empty, inactive comm tries to delete this too (I'm sure they will) and to test how this comment shows up when that happens. Because strangely my other comment is showing as "deleted by creator" on some instances, but I did not delete it, it was removed. All the hexbear comments still show up from most other instances though. So when the mod reads this, yes you Tad Lispy, know that your attempt to silence everyone who was speaking truth didn't work. :)
lol, lmao.
cheers mate.
I will remove any comment promoting or excusing fascism and violent ethno-imperialism or spreading obvious lies. Engaging in discussion with people (bots?) who are clearly ignoring reality and cherry picking irrelevant facts is a waste of time and everyone's attention. Russian war propaganda trolls like the bunch of you are not welcome here.
Just to make sure, you do realize that Russians invaded Ukraine and Ukrainians are fighting a defensive war, right?
I'm aware of that framing.
Another narrative is that Russia finally came to the defense of the DPR and LPR breakaway states, which sought to escape their ethnic cleansing^[https://tankie.tube/w/11tj9DFjVqbdfBMzqVSUU1] at the hands of Kiev's Maidan regime, after Putin mistakenly^[https://geopoliticaleconomy.com/2023/02/10/ukraine-zelensky-minsk-peace-russia/] ^[https://original.antiwar.com/ted_snider/2023/08/29/was-putin-really-serious-about-the-minsk-accords/] trusted the West to act in good faith towards seeking a peaceful resolution.
One could frame that war as having ended in 2023, when Russian troops took control of the Donbass. Since then, the troops have remained simply to defend the now-annexed territory from the invading Ukrainian forces, which are increasingly composed of untrained and unfit conscripts forced at gunpoint by fascist militias^[https://azovlobby.substack.com/p/how-we-learned-to-stop-worrying-and] into NATO's proxy war.
Such is the power of narrative control.
euromaidan was a coup.
freikorps in ukraine were attacking the ethnic russians in the east for years before when your goldfish memory thinks the conflict started.

I would recommend searching "site:reuters.com Ukraine nationalists" and set date before 2020, even western press were reporting very differently before then. It was only after Biden took office that the narrative shifted completely.
