Boycott US
Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Sorry, frankly don't care about what happens to this good-for-nothing hypocrite.
Ah yes, lemme stand outside my mansion with an "Eat the Rich" T-shirt all while I refuse to pay my editors.
Asshat.
"First they came for the rich socialists..."
I'm kind of indifferent to Hasan but law enforcement harassing anyone for their political views is troubling.
I'm sorry, but he's done more harm than good to how people view left-wing politics online.
This guy has trashed 9-5 job workers labeling their positions as being "easier" than being a streamer, all while he sits, talks, and leaves the room with the video running. He doesn't edit his videos, other people do, and he's on record refusing to pay them.
He decided to become a leading left-wing voice, and in being a massive hypocrite, has likely pushed people away from left-wing politics to be picked up by right-wing freaks who rightfully call him out. He's on the record taking Russia's side for invading Ukraine both in 2022 and 2014, has defended the Kai Cenat riot calling anybody who criticised him or the rioters racist, and many other such comments. I'm supposed to feel sorry for someone who likely contributed to people moving to the right, translating to more Republican votes, while under the guise as a left-wing figurehead? Yeah, no.
"O hey everyone it's time to care about dead babies in Syria social media told me so."
Go ahead and downvote me, just know you're enabling those who push the Overton window to the right with their blatant hypocrisy.
Noted. Which of those things is a potential crime he should be detained for?
Just for convenience sake, this should help clarify my thoughts more: https://lemmy.ca/post/43998271/16513594
Long story short, nobody should be detained like this, but this has been happening for months now and I care more about things overall than Hasan specifically.
It'd be like if the government started arresting smaller newscasters and Alex Jones got caught up in the mix. Overall would care about this happening to people, not Alex Jones specifically.
Ah the left (If you're even left) is self cannibalizing again I see. Very productive.
If he's "the left", I don't want to be anywhere near it.
He doesn't care about the people, he just hates the US. Hating US does not make you "Left".
This just in, people need to accept hypocrisy rather than call it out in order to be seen as left-wing.
God man, people really think that not rooting out the bad apples is going to help left-wing politics. That's how you end up with Jimmy Dore being an anti-vax pro-Trumper and Ana Kasparian being a transphobe.
I'm not even entirely sure why you have a vendetta against hasan, but okay let's roll with that line of thinking.
Does this also mean that we should cancel Bernie Sanders for having Zionist takes at one point? Even when he has changed his stance and is infinitely better than most around him?
If only the right wingers were this divided, we might stand a chance.
I mean... They are. They just hate what they think <\EDIT> liberals are <\EDIT> more.
This is a aspect inherent to the conservative vs progressive mind set. This is an extreme over simplification, like really extreme and doesn't really apply to Trump, but here goes:
If your side wants things to stay the same, that's it. You're done formulating views.
But, if you want things to change, now you have to answer the question of what needs to change and how.
Hey, putting everything else aside, just curious what you were trying to do with the stuff here. Is this some sort of feature I'm unaware of?
Genuine question, not trying to flare things up.
I try and make clear any significant changes i make to a post.
It's more important when someone has already replied, but i tend to do it even when no one has in the same way i use my blinkers while driving, even if no one is around.
Continue going against Bernie. He still won't call what's happening in Palestine a genocide because he's such a coward. Not that long ago he had pro-Palestine protestors removed from an event of his for unfurling the Palestinian flag, all this despite the crowd chanting "free Palestine".
If you're not calling it what it is, all you are is an enabler. I used to look up to the guy but his shameful unwillingness to use "the g word" only turns supporters away from him. Not calling it a genocide is a non-starter when every single fact points to that being the case. People aren't blind, and this weakness from Bernie on this critical issue has made him lose countless supporters, of which who knows how many left politics altogether and stayed at home during the election as a result.
You either keep up the pressure, or find someone else willing to tell things as they are. If Bernie is so scared of stating facts on a human rights issue, then who's to take his word that he'll fight for anybody's human rights if push truly comes to shove?
If Jamaal Bowman didn't pull that damn fire alarm, he'd be a perfect example of someone (formerly) in office to look up to. In terms of commentators, been feeling homeless and left the U.S. sphere since Kyle Kulinski went radio silent in terms of a response to him saying it's okay to deadname Caitlyn Jenner over her politics.
This just in, anybody I disagree with is a troll.
Look it's clear that my take is unpopular, you don't need to call me something I'm not as a result.
Stay mad
He produces edited videos via multiple video editors that agree to the work, but he does not pay? (I’m only peripherally aware of the guy)
Hasan exploited my labour for YouTube videos
Hasan agrees to pay YouTube editor after “exploitation” accusations - Dexerto
Nobody edits multiple videos for a name as big as Hasan voluntarily, and if they do, good for them. With common sense this should have been interpreted as paid work.
This looks like people making assumptions and doing work before an agreement is made.
I agree to an extent, but regardless, editing 7-8 videos taking hours of work should be paid. That this wasn't until he went to the community's subreddit about it is ridiculous. Video editors doing work for you is something that should by default be seen as paid work, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone to do it voluntarily.
The guy shouldn't have made the assumption he had an editor position in the bag and that this was a guarantee, but Hasan having received and published this work shouldn't have assumed it to be free cause nobody does that. It'd be a completely different story if Hasan never published the edited vids.
It’s unique that the edit went up on a channel he controls.
People editing podcasts and streams and building unauthorized/unofficial channels is super common. I can see how that makes this even more murky, in a way where Hasan can be “huh? What? Whatever bro.” About it.
Messy messy quasi-parasocial stuff.
Honestly? You make a good point.
Perhaps in regards to that I've misjudged him, but there's still a number of things I think he's said and done that have done more harm to left-wing politics in the states than good.
Not that it does anything, but I've gone ahead and downvoted myself on the initial comment. I don't like deleting posts I've made, even if my mind has changed since making them.
I don't know him what's he done
