The only MAGA that I'm still connected to on Facebook hasn't posted anything about the Abrego Garcia situation since it happened. He's literally doing the Homer thing, and the shrubs are his other posts about the weather and stuff. He went from posting about Trump all the time to kinda pretending like he doesn't exist. Meanwhile, the MAGAts around my parents' house in the middle of rural Indiana have taken down all of their Trump flags. They were already at a low ebb before the election; now there are only two houses with Trump signs up on my route to their house, and I'm pretty sure one of them is owned by an old woman who can't walk. This just isn't happening on the ground. Only on Fox, as far as I can tell. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 12 child comments replies: [–] Steve@startrek.website 25 points 1 year ago (4 children) My MAGA friend just said due process is only for citizens. [–] JeremyHuntQW12@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago Slavery never went away, they just became sharecroppers, which is a form of slavery. SCOTUS ruled that sharecropping was a form of slavery in the 1960s. BTW, Clarence Thomas and Roberts want to overturn that ruling.... permalink fedilink source parent

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 year ago We are NOT winning, we are NOT sitting here smug while the conservatives whither into the background, they are fucking in control of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful country and they are celebrating every day. You just described my mom's YouTube feed. Just metric fucking tons of copium. The Midas Touch has like 20 videos a day, each of them with titles like Trump BLASTED by Immigration JUDGE! or Trump suffers MAJOR LOSS and FREAKS OUT or Trump has PANICKED MELTDOWN as he meets HIS FATE in COURT!!1! None of this is true. It's all happy fantasy. The sky is literally falling, but these fuckwits are saying it's ok, go have a picnic, everything is working out, and all you have to do is go look outside and see THEY'RE COMPLETELY FULL OF SHIT. One side is setting everything on fire, while the "other" side is busting out marshmallows and graham crackers. permalink fedilink source parent
