Anyone looking for ideas for carpet?
here's an idea for you!
Just think, someone had to make that carpet, someone else had to decide to stock it to sell, and someone else had to buy it for this to happen. So many people you have to wonder "what were they thinking?!"
how did you find MILs 70s carpet? She had lovely matching shantung cushions and curtains.
looked like a cinema or hotel
I love that vibe
i like something a little more calming
Fair enough.
akshully , I do very plain walls and rugs and stuff , that's so I can cover the walls with art prints, with reliefs and the shelves with object .
That actually sounds very nice, especially as I know you collect seashells and things. Before this place, my houses all had an antique store jungle bazaar vibe. Since I had the kids and started living here it's been no indoor plants and nothing quirky and interesting, just a very practical and boring "doesn't matter if it gets dirty/found on someone's nature strip" vibe. With the exception of the kids art and photos of course.
Walks across the room
seasick
So 70s chic.
I have to admit I kinda like it. Then again, I grew up in a brown Berber and fake walnut veneer paradise so anything oddly colourful appeals to me.
Having some colour is definitely good. Especially atfer looking too long at the modern grey look everything is done in these days. But there can be too much of a good thing.
Itβs giving suburban RSL or casino vibes
