It's got stomach acid, if it's sitting there for months it might eventually do some damage

Why would it be? Especially to a multiple month long hydrochloric acid exposure?

Based solely on “We keep acids in plastic jugs because it’ll eat through glass but doesn’t react with plastic” but I’m now assuming that doesn’t apply to the type of plastic shower curtains are made of
