The exception of allowing more meat (or specifically allowing any number of meals with meat) for the sick was a part of the rule of Benedict. Also predating the Templar there was already an exception for twice baked meat not counting as meat, so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
