  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"anymore." Honey, you haven't been a democracy for a long, long time. What we're seeing is the natural end result of decades of subversive work.

Honestly, and other people on Lemmy acting like this election is the ONLY thing that caused this moment are real ignorant, this has been building for decades. If the Party Loyalists had pushed their party to be GOOD instead of just being "not the other guy" we wouldn't be in this moment.

I am SO sick of this blame-shifting argument. Everyone who didn't show up to vote for the only "not Trump" candidate likely to win is 100% partially responsible for what we're dealing with now. Full stop. It's not the Dem's fault, it's not the system's fault, it's not anyone's fault except those who sat out or threw their vote away out of protest because they completely fail to even acknowledge the existence of a bigger picture.

Hurr durr, fascism is bad, but the other side isn't perfect so I'm not voting against fascism to teach them a lesson.

There were two items on the menu: "Status Quo (flawed but not fascism)" and "Speedrun to Fascism".

The fact that there are still people defending their decision to sit out / vote third party is mind boggling. At least if some of those would own up and say "I fucked up" I might have a shred of respect for them.

I voted for Harris. The guy you're responding to is still right. If democrats had actually represented the working class for the last 30 years instead of paying lip service to the idea then we would not be in this situation. Saying that does not excuse the actions of Republicans or conservative voters. It's simply an honest accounting of Democrats failure to present a convincing counter argument to the GOP. You would think that would be easy to do and yet here we are.

Y'all are right, there are legitimate complaints to be levvied at the Dems and the DNC and yet voting for Kamala was, and should have been for everyone, the easiest choice I have ever made at the voting booth.

How that absolute certainty got lost in the leadup to the election is one of the greatest cons in the history of politics.

Voting is not the only action that created the current environment get over yourself.

You are not better or more informed because you voted for one oligarch party over the other.

I have a line I won't cross that's genocide, where's yours? Nowhere to be found because Dem loyalists are feckless spineless cowards who do nothing but defend every action Dem politicians make.

I'm glad boot lickers like you hate people that have principles like me because you have none, and I don't want people like that for allies.

Edit: Also your party fucked up and lost and you're trying to get others to admit they fucked up but you won't? Got it.

Looks like someone is working on their Nuremburg trail defense already...

I've been voting in elections for decades for the Dems and the Dems have only gotten worse every time I voted for them, they kept ratcheting right. I took a stance this election for president because I realized it wouldn't have mattered both parties are captured by the oligarchy. If you've been voting for them for decades and haven't had the epiphany that they aren't working for you, maybe you need to go back to grade school.
