President Donald Trump "blinked" on his tariffs against Canada and Mexico before they could cause real harm to the economy, the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial board wrote on Monday.

Every country that can foster trade independence will now do so

That's not necessarily damage though (to the global economy at large), if anything that helps limit damage in the future

Very true! My bad, I was thinking US-centrically. It's done potential damage to the US economy.
