IIRC they were being used without the minecraft look from the start - Crysis and Red Alert 3 used them, for example.

Vehicles again. I'm not sure when it started, I just remember them being in 3.
the minecraft "voxels" aren't real voxels and they look like the funkopops of retro gaming
