Summary

Democratic lawmakers, led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, criticized Trump for failing to address rising food costs despite campaign promises to lower prices "immediately."

In a letter, they accused Trump of focusing on mass deportations and January 6 pardons instead of tackling grocery inflation, which rose 1.8% in 2024, with egg prices up 36.8%.

Trump’s administration defended its actions, citing efforts to reduce inflation by cutting energy costs.

You know, he actually passed some of the most monumental legislation in decades, a lot of it with bipartisan support. But because we are not living on the starship enterprise here you are as usual shitting on everything and everyone.

You know, he actually passed some of the most monumental legislation in decades

He passed the IRA, which was a consolation prize for Democrats killing BBB. You might be satisfied with the same legislation that manchin was willing to vote for. I saw what Democrats killed. BBB never came to the floor for a vote. I'm sure you're satisfied that minimum wage stayed low like you want it.

As for the "bipartisan support," yeah, democrats voted for some republican legislation like the anti-trans defense bill.

But because we are not living on the starship enterprise here you are as usual shitting on everything and everyone.

"Don't support genocide." "Fucking progressives expect perfection."

He passed way way more than the IRA

[–] [email protected] 1 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Yes, I mentioned the anti-trans bill. Oh, yeah. There was also republican border policy. And of course the aid to a genocidal apartheid regime.

And just to be clear. I hate the Dems. Probably more than you do. I hate Biden with a passion. I hate Kamala - or Hillary 2.0- next too. So much I unregistered from the Hem party.

It's just we gotta work within the system somehow or we just check out. I don't know. Im praying for all the boomer politicians to check out. I've lost most hope anyway.

And just to be clear. I hate the Dems.

Just to be clear, I think you're lying.

It’s just we gotta work within the system somehow or we just check out.

Working within the system doesn't require you to keep campaigning for a man who will never run for office again.

Again. This is just bitter copium. He past some of the biggest legislation since FDR. Of course it would be pointless having that discussion with you as you clearly are already bad faith about this topic with your selective memory.

You don't like how politics works. I get it. None of us do. But this incessant hostility to the Dems is not going to move the needle unless we move beyond FPTP. Figure it out.

He past some of the biggest legislation since FDR.

BBB came closest. It was killed in the senate as intended. The Inflation Reduction Act was the biggest legislation that Biden passed. It was so watered down and pro-corporate that Manchin cosponsored.

He's not in office anymore. He's not running anymore. You don't have to carry water for him anymore. You don't have to lie on his behalf anymore.

You don’t like how politics works. I get it. None of us do.

Ha.

But this incessant hostility to the Dems is not going to move the needle unless we move beyond FPTP.

Democrats will never move beyond FPTP. "Just switch to RCV!" is a fucking pipe dream. Using it as a prerequisite for criticism of the party just means that you don't want any criticism of the party ever.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

There was more than BBB. I don't need to carry water for him but I do prefer to have a conversation grounded in reality that isn't emotive and charged every time either. It's impossible to discuss anything because every approach is devoid of nuance, details, or the boring entrapings of how policy actually gets done. It's a lot more fun to screech about genocide Joe in'it?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

There was more than BBB.

There wasn't even BBB. It was killed by Democrats without even coming to the floor for a vote. Do tell, how did Old Man Biden out-progressive LBJ?

I don’t need to carry water for him

So stop.

but I do prefer to have a conversation grounded in reality that isn’t emotive and charged every time either

If you prefer a conversation grounded in reality, don't say that Biden passed massive legislation that he didn't pass. If you prefer conversation grounded in reality, don't pretend that FPTP is going to come out of a party that considered the filibuster more important than democracy itself.

Hey man, keep screeching about how emotionally buthurt you are and keep calling people liars. In the meantime, the rest of us are going to roll up our sleeves and get to work building. The boomer dems aren't going to be around forever and we gotta move forward. This whole brooding in bitterness and defeatism is bullcrap.

I've seen what you build. There's a reason you have to oversell it as being second only to the New Deal.
