Chat is a text only community for casual conversation, please keep shitposting to the absolute minimum. This is intended to be a separate space from c/chapotraphouse or the daily megathread. Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.

As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.

Thank you and happy chatting!

My first time experience here had been very politically charged and I asked about it in askLemmy and I was told to immediately block you people in the options I was given

I had the opportunity to browse around and found out that you folk were decent and weren't as awful as told in that post I made

How do you view .world and by extension other instances that defederate (and view negatively) towards you?

I was touching grass when we flipped the federation switch, so I don't really think about any of those other instances or even distinguish between them much tbh.

In my experience, the only people who seem to have a bad time here are reactionaries who aren't used to having their views challenged and can't drop arguments that they're badly losing — we do have a tendency to treat them like we're outdoor cats batting around a lizard we caught before they get banned. But this place is pretty chill as long as you're not dead-set on being a bigot.

.world pre-emptively de-federated us (as a last resort). We have thankfully never had to interact with them.
