Is using up resources without paying for it. It's stealing by any definition.
who do you pay for all the oxygen you use up?
Oxygen is not produced by workers. Electricity, bandwidth, storage, security, software, video content are all produced by workers.
For a commie you are quite unaware of the means of production...
seems like you aren't aware of communist opposition to private property.
Wages have nothing to do with property.
they absolutely do
They don't, you're just trying to change the subject to distract from your subconscious telling you you're wrong.
wages are paid by property owners. communism is a moneyless society.
Wages are paid by whoever pays them. Customers, owners or coops. Nothing to do with property.
There hasn't been a moneyless society, so communism would be, if anything. If we're doing fantasy, I like star wars better.
a customer pays a fee, not a wage.
The customer pays a price, that if you are a freelancer, it's your wage. As many content creators do.
there are plenty of examples of moneyless societies
Lol
watching ads doesn't transfer money to YouTube. not stealing.
Watching ads absolutely does transfer money to YouTube, how do you think Google exists??
It's astonishing how naive (or obtuse) people can be.
advertisers pay google. I don't pay google by watching ads.
Advertisers pay Google when your watch ads. Goole pays the creators (and utilities, and rent, and employees, and..). By not watching ads, all those people are not getting paid, hence you are stealing.
advertisers pay google when google tells them I watched an ad. not when I do it
Even if you were right (which you aren't, ads don't work like that) it would change the fact you're stealing.
Does lying to yourself makes you feel less guilty?
I'm not lying at all, and I won't be made to feel guilty for avoiding ads
Deep down you are kinda guilty already, don't ya? You know what you are doing is wrong and yelling and strangers makes it easier...
no. telling people spreading misinformation they're wrong is cathartic to me
Whatever you need to tell yourself. Thieves don't get far in life, so reconsider someday.
calling me names won't change the facts.
If you steal, it's not a name, it's a definition.
So stealing is defined (in some states) as taking property with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the property. So you're incorrect and [email protected] might be breaking YouTube's terms and condition not the law, and it's not theft.
If Google were paying the content creators anything even remotely resembling the kind of income from advertisers the content earns, I might have a shred of sympathy for them losing a tiny bit of advertising revenue if some user watches a video without watching the same three ads they've seen ten times already that day.
You're spending a lot of time and effort defending one of the richest corporations in the world. It's weird.
PS: Has it occurred to you that I'm defending the workers that earn a living on the platform and are hurt by stealing?
50% in fact.
stealing has a specific definition. I'm not stealing.
Taking things or using resources without paying the expected price. So theft. Tsk Tsk.
