My Husband And His Family Voted For Trump — So I'm Canceling Thanksgiving And Christmas

Frankly it's odd that somebody who'd be so bothered by this this is only starting to care now. I have chud relatives that I refuse to talk to but it's been that way for years at this point. Like if I was married to a Trump supporter I'd have gotten a divorce before 2016 lol.
It really makes you wonder what kind of things these people talked about and enjoyed doing together before the election.
Some people get off on the drama of it, like this writer seems to. The husband, if we are to judge by the story, is used to her throwing a tantrum and then cooling off, which will likely be the case here again. His entire demeanour which she describes throughout the text is just waiting for her to calm down like she is a sulking child, which she sees as deep empathy. The only concession he made was not forcing her to go to the Christmas celebration (for now), bringing her a cup of coffee and saying sorry (while not doing the actual thing she asked).
I have seen more robuet and convincing compassion from sociopaths who knew I knew they were sociopaths who knew I knew they hated me.
