Turns out democrats running on a platform of bragging about being endorsed by the cheyneys and saying she'd be just like Biden but with more republicans in her cabinet was poison to people who don't care about dick cheyney and having republicans in the cabinet aka democrats.
They got so used to telling progressives to fuck off they just kept running the same play and turned off everybody left of bush.
That and thebwhole weird final push where they were acting like everybody wanted to vote for them but was afraid to probablly pussed people off too.
"Psst it's ok you can vote for us"
"Yea I know I can but I don't fucking want to to"
"Shh shhh shhh it's ok...... you're allowed to vote for us."
They also fucked people over economically and then lied about it, while funnelling billions to wars and genocide.
