MODERATORS

put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @[email protected]:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Hey.... so a vote happened? I come back to see 700+ new comments. IDK, been in a Boiler Room for 14 hours bored to tears as we chased down people to stay in their polling places to make sure people stayed in line.

The libs around me were so depressed seeing counts come in that they canceled the usual drinks & watch results dinner that wraps up a campaign. The OG KHive is driving back home tonight.

It was sad and not in a funny way. The vibes... BAD

: (

How many of them do you think are still traumatized from '16?

Did htey know they were running a dogshit campaign for a dogshit candidate? Was there any awarenness this was/is a coin toss?

Oh yeah the trauma is real.

These people are true believers. They really love Kamala and have a hard time understanding why anyone would vote against her. They think the only people who are against her are racist white men, which granted is a LOT of people, but they're not going to dig much deeper than that tonight.

Maybe the party as a whole learns some lessons, but there's not much of a structure here to begin with. The entire Democratic "machine" is so segmented that it runs on institutional money. All that money goes into bland, by-the-numbers Republican-lite candidates and turnout programs that all look the same.

I'm hopeful a true worker's party, when it forms, can quickly rise to power by simply doing what the Democrats never learn to do: evolve

I cannot imagine that level of delusion.
