Camouflage tarp sounds solid, you mean making a 1-person tent using a tarp?
Yeah, hammock with a tarp as a canopy. You have to have an underquilt in cooler weather; there's even tarps/tents that have stove jacks for wood burning tent stoves. There's all kinds of ways you can string up traps for a good shelter. Look up stealth camping on YouTube. Bushcraft is another good topic to look up.

Lol, yeah. Ex military, I seem to have a natural aptitude for those kinds of things. I'm pretty vicious at paintball and airsoft and I can give a manager a real earful.
