CE would mean less than 2000 years, also I believe they ment 1200-1600 instead of 600.

Or they meant BCE. I think Chumash culture was around in BCE. Not sure if it was Chumash then or not though. But there were people in the southern CA region for like 11k years and that's where the Chumash were.

Could be, but at least when I try to google that artefact I get results which show 1200-1600.
