I mean we could have had most of that or a close version of it. Still not sure flying cars are a good idea without a large amount of regulation.
But, we decided computers talking to each other was way more important. And, here we are. Computers talking to each other faster and better than ever. Celebrate the achievement of communication that has been turned into stream of revenue and almost unending growth. See how well we now communicate with each other. Much better than we ever did before. What a grand human achievement we have made.
Now to be quite honest, we do have "flying cars" ( more so riding planes ). And a lot of countries are throwing looks at 4 day week work, which isn't 2 but still, progress ( Except Greece IIRC which went back to 6 day a week ).
Now I am really baffled why the hell did space conquest stopped tho.
It costs money and the upsides are more than a quarter away :(
Yeah real answer is that our economic and political systems are incapable of planning for the future
Because it isn't profitable right now. The first time you see someone successfully mine an asteroid, or sell property on the moon, is when you'll see the space race explode again. Until then there's not really any money out there.
