Meh, I wish they had done this with George Santos before he got elected. Being scrutinized is part of the process of running for office. That these are nothing burgers is a good thing.

Yeah and they don't realize that latching on to these nothing issues just shows they don't actually have anything and are grasping at any straws they can see.

I agree with you that scrutiny for public office holders is a necessary part of the process.

However, the angle of scrutiny is what is strange to me. I understand their position in that they definitely are grubby little terminally online weirdos but desperately want to escape being characterized as such and so they're looking for ways to squirm out of it...but their attempts are also weird.
