Just feels kinda surreal seeing a game like this used to promote conversations about mental health, given the themes in the late portion of Final Fantasy VII.

https://seizetheawkward.org/final-fantasy

Seize the Awkward and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH have teamed up in a PSA that encourages young people to start conversations around mental health with friends. Join Cloud, Aerith, and friends on their journey to face their battles together. Equipping yourself with the tools and resources to confidently support your friends is totally worth it!

Transcript from one of the ads:

Life’s daily battles are not meant to be fought alone.

We’re not powerless.

So long as we don’t lose sight of what’s important.

Don’t be afraid to seize that moment to talk to your friends.

"Cloud, you okay?"

Because checking in on a friend can create a safe space.

The first step on our new journey.

"You coming?"

Reach out to a friend about their mental health.

Seize the Awkward.

It’s totally worth it.

Heart's in the right place I suppose, prob. more net positive than net negative (If it moves the needle at all).

That's true. I guess I'm just jealous I didn't have Cloud talking about mental health when i was a kid.

All i got was that Reagan cartoon where the Muppet Babies and the Ninja Turtles told a kid not to do drugs.

that Reagan cartoon where the Muppet Babies and the Ninja Turtles told a kid not to do drugs

idk why, but this reminded me of that "this is your brain on drugs" ad (cw: egg in skillet) from the 80s

Any questions?

a lot, actually – what a weird analogy
