AI could be such a neat, useful thing. But nope, capitalists can't help themselves. Gotta use it to grift the internet with low quality content and steal from artists.

I think if techbros didn't immediately start showering everyone with AI art (and companies didn't begin using AI art so soon), then AI's positive PR would have lasted longer.

Unfortunately, they blew the gasket too soon and now everyone sees it for what it is.

yeah. a certain reckless eagerness to basically force feed everyone this slop

Some technro telling you to marvel at some eldritch man creature with a sagging smile and nineteen fingers probably doesn't help the cause.

Nor when you are some 20 or 30-something with a passing tech literacy and you keep seeing Meemaw post AI shit on Facebook saying "wow what a miracle" and it's a picture of corn with Jesus's face carrying a wounded marine.
