Sounds like the exact same scenario as the vast majority of Western "liberal" countries up to a few short years ago.
That’s not an incredibly great thing though. If liberal capitalists countries are ahead of you in something that really begs the question of what is going wrong, and how can it be changed.
There’s significant hatred towards them of course, but even in the US, LGBT marriages have been affirmed by the state for about 10 years now.
