Truthfully, I appreciate the fact people are critiquing it, given how central computers are to many of ours lives, and think it's valuable to explore alternatives even if it leads nowhere, it's just frustrating how people will say that stuff as if it was self evident without even a sketch of what the alternative could be.

People often say that, but I've yet to hear anyone actually explain what's so awful about it, or what replacement would be significantly better for an actual computer, despite seeking out that information. Sure, let's get rid of desktops, but in favour of what?
