Keep busy, not that it's a choice mostly. But I don't need to make it "bearable". It's a day like any other.

You're worried about the energy cost of a Chromecast when you have a TV 😂 How childish do you have to be to resort to building your argument on silly factors like money and energy costs to justify why you can't manage to install an app on a cheap Android TV device.

Kids nowadays can run rings around average adults when it comes to interacting with touchscreen devices and phones, I think they can manage a TV! This is beyond satire.

"FUCK Google" makes people feel relevant and involved which is pathetic.

You worked in IT 20 years? Your original comment doesn't give that impression.

Anyway, if your TV has HDMI which it most likely will do, plug in an Android TV device and then you can install whichever Android app you want, including ones that allow you to watch YT with no ads.

It's absolutely safe in Europe and Asia. Definitely something I recommend everyone does at some point, preferably earlier on in life. It taught me a lot about being independent and about myself, how I enjoy being alone etc.

Eating in restaurants alone can be a bit awkward to start with but you get over it.

Unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra as your router - Wireguard VPN in to your network and if that fails to connect then you can use Teleport feature via the WifiMan app.

No, I'm not suggesting that. That's why I said some people, not everyone. There are certainly cases where medication is absolutely the only answer, but time has shown that, in US particularly, doctors are reaching to medication for milder cases of depression etc. before even prescribing lifestyle changes and supplementation like vitamin D etc.

Define "require medication" as mental health medication has been grossly over prescribed for a number of years now. It's an easy faux solution so doctors don't have to convince some people to sleep better, get a hobby, get offline and exercise.

I'm struggling to think of an answer, but I guess the injustice of life in many forms. Some bad people have more success and luck than some good people. Alzheimers can make us forget the love of our lives after a long, happy life.

I can't say I enjoy those things, but you're right, it's far from a grind. Those tasks are a part of daily life, they need to be done so best crack on and get them done. Anyone who sees those things as an inconvenience or a hindrance to the extent it makes them hate life are not mature enough for the gift of life.

Be mindful about putting all your eggs on one basket. One company, however good (currently), controlling a big chunk of your data...
