Probably because routine mandatory tests are bad, and the comment you replied to is an endorsement to it. It's a gross violation of your constitutional rights under the 4th amendment. Also, why do you care to make assumptions on why people downvoted if you're not even making an effort to broaden your views?
I tend to agree with most of what you said but the main reason this is even a thing is that women typically date older men who are already established. Dating in your early 20s is basically impossible because your female counterparts aren't looking for guys that are just starting out or figuring out who they are. Women seek security and sustainability and the 28 year old guy who knows himself and has his own house, good job and car looks far more appealing than the 21 year old who's living with his parents or going to school. I'm not even criticizing women here, it makes sense.
Basically PH and other xxx sites need you to verify your identity by uploading your ID. It's what should be unconstitutional and a violation of privacy.
Rise against was kind of my introduction to protest rock before I got into my long term love interest prog rock. As a young adult it was powerful to hear songs talk about socioeconomic issues so openly. I still enjoy listening to them and while growing up they inspired me to be a part of activist efforts, especially after learning/reading about Aaron Swartz. I wish the world felt like something that could be changed, but instead it feels like something that changes you. Best you can do is offer a helping hand and be there for those you care about and occasionally offer a helping hand to strangers when you're able to.
Sometimes I listen to them while ironically working for a megacorporation
Man I feel like even the worst movies back then were better than now. Even most blockbuster hits are a dud for me now. RIP
I don't see how I was toxic in any way. Besides, this isn't reddit. There is no karma, so if people downvote you, who cares? That just means that people think you're wrong.
Here's a thought, let's say you're perfectly satisfied with how your content delivery/algorithm. You're a responsible adult who can manage your screen time. Should TikTok be doing more to protect youth(those most vulnerable) from predatory content? There's been quite a few studies now and even states suing TikTok for their effects on youth's mental health.
You're making a few assumptions about me(implying I'm living under a rock or something)... Unfortunately I spend a large part of my day on the computer due to work and I grew up with the internet. So I try to spend what free time I have reading/studying, and maybe consume a bit of streaming in a day.
If you knew the horrible content that most kids are being served now, it would make your head roll. I don't let my kid watch YouTube but his cousins are all crazed on tiktok content. Look up skibidi toilet.
Honestly asking here, can't they just appeal the conviction to the supreme court and get it thrown out? The supreme court has been abusing it's power for a while now, thanks to the stacked GOP judges
I know I am just a random nobody to you, but I'm not satisfied with this response. If you have exhausted all options, then you need to be working on updating your resume. Your boss might not have enough juice to push this through for you, and in that case, it's probably better that you find a new job. I don't think you've exhausted all options, I think you came face to face with the reality of the corporate workforce, the reality is that most people are trying to get by with "good enough." They are afraid of the implications of you outworking them and making them look worthless, or you automating something so much that it cuts the departmental budget. If what you're saying is true, and you can reduce hundreds of man hours, then you should fight for your ideas. Know that fighting for your ideas doesn't mean that you will be praised from day one. People will poke and prod, criticize, kick the tires, make excuses, etc. Stand by your work and always come back to the table.
"Okay, I heard your proposal on how to validate data integrity in the event that we become a multi-vendor environment. I understand that parsing/wrangling data can be challenging. However, in the event that our environment adopts XYZ infrastructure, I am using tried and tested industry standard modeled languages. All major vendors support this language model, so it would not require a complete re-engineering.
life is too short to work for shitty bosses man. But don't spend time feeling sorry for yourself.
That's built into the model. Stars carry the weight because they've shouldered the responsibility. Others will step up... The work will be subpar, but when companies do risk analysis on stuff like this, they know how much gas they can burn before needing to be competitive again. Just another reason why we need unions in the US.
Made my first fork, push and pull request today. Been learning Python and a bit of rust for 3 years now(self taught, job is network engineer) and I can't wait until it gets merged 😄 just corrected some errors in a yaml file

A lot of people on the streets have no one left to help them for a reason. They've burned every bridge with loved ones. Saying this as someone who's dealt with an addict on my wife's family. Thankfully she's not in the streets right now but she has been several times. We've helped her out in so many ways just to end up getting stolen from
