Is there an ootl for this?
I just started :P I have two low end laptops so busy fiddling about with AntiX and Q4OS
I'm even pretty sure they have a budget for these miniscule slap-on-the-wrists.
This is great. One step closer to making peertube actually bearable to use.
I think the biggest pain point at the moment is accessing content from other instances (I think peertube calls them platforms) when I'm logged in to one. When I'm not logged in (or on the guest account) Peertube shows content from all platforms. But when I log into a platform (say tilvids or makertube), videos from other platforms stop showing completely. Like, even when I'm on the platforms tab and select a different platform, the results show up as empty, except for the platform I'm currently logged in to. It seems like Fedilab does this as well.
It is confusing because Thunder (the Lemmy frontend I'm using) has an "All" tab which shows info from all instances regardless if whether I'm logged in. I'm not sure if I just so happened to make accounts on an instance (TILvid) that isn'tfederated and that's the reason other instances don't show? Idk man i just got here. It does also show videos from my subscriptions, regardless of platform, so idk if its a bug, or arbitrary, or something.
Sepiasearch was suggested to me but it kinda feels like duct tape rather than an actual solution.
So yeah. Peertube seems to be the only part of the fediverse I'm struggling to understand at the moment. I just want to see content from the global peertube fediverse without having to log out or use an external search all the time which I'm convinced is possible since Lemmy / pixelfed / loops / mastodon etc. Seems to be able to do that easily.
So this is a step in the right direction. Now if peerseek had the ability to log into an account and subscribe to channels, that'd be a game changer.
I'm not sure how instance interoperability works? My completely blind guess is that tilvids is somehow not linked with the other instances and therefore doesn't fetch them? Idk man i just got here
I can indeed. This only happens on the peertube app when I'm logged in. When I'm not logged in, the videos show. Idk if it matters which instance I'm logged into, but my account is on tilvids.
I'm logged into tilvids.com. curiously when I'm logged out I can see the other platform's videos just fine
No VPN. Curiously I can view other platforms videos but only when I'm logged out.

User: get me a cheese pizza
...
User: that's not a cheese pizza.
AI: I see the problem. You made your pizza incorrectly. You should've added cheese. Add cheese like so...
User: There's still no cheese.
AI: That's because you didn't add cheese yet. Here's the pizza with cheese properly added this time.
