Holy shite, that’s unbelievable! Massive congrats! This is so fucking exciting. 😁 As an aside, I used to work as an SE for a HW company, and I concur with the RC model for HW releases. It’s more versatile for your use case.
Fuck yeah! Team orca all the way.
Love reading about your process and progress on this. Cheers for keeping us in the loop!
They own some of their servers and rent others. From their FAQ:
All of our VPN servers are encrypted and are either owned by us or dedicated servers that we rent.
- Our rented servers are all dedicated, meaning they are not shared with anyone else. We do not use virtual servers.
- With the servers that we own, we have physical control over these, which means they tend to be faster and more secure.
When connecting, you can filter to only show owned servers.

I agree with the sentiment, but if Mint and Pop needed too much tinkering for OP, a hackintosh out of his Nvidia laptop would be out of the question, I assume.
Absolutely! Shitty, entitled tourists are everywhere and hail from everywhere. It’s part of the reason travelling is such a pain nowadays.
Ones I’ve personally heard:
-
parking (either insuficient or too tight)
-
speed of service in restaurants
-
“why don’t they speak english?!”
-
accessibility for the disabled (this one is actually pretty fair, but it’s also very hard to fix)
Edit, PS: the lack of public toilets is also a fair complaint. It’s also a pretty common one, even in New York and London. Amsterdam comes to mind as a decent counter-example, at least for men. There are urinals strewn about most everywhere in the city.
This is extremely cool and I genuinely hope you achieve what you set out to do! Can you please keep me in the loop too? I’d love to follow your progress. Cheers

I find it similar to Scotland in many ways. It’s bloody cold and windy. Always reminds me of that Fairytale of New York song. The lyrics go “the wind blows right through you, it’s no place for the old”.
Wool layers work best. A long wool coat is perfect, if you have one. Puffer jackets are too bulky and sweaty if you take the train or the bus. You definitely need boots, but make sure they’re warm, waterproof and comfortable. You’ll be walking a lot.
Have fun!
