I'm totally with you on not strapping batteries to my feet. That feels like a good rule to live by for anyone.

It doesn't actually give any examples of removed posts or screenshots of the reasons why? Surely it can't just be because a town name happens to contain "lsd" in the middle of it?

Basically poor kids aren't allowed to go on holiday. Aren't allowed to go during term time, can't afford to go during holidays. It's such a dystopic rule.

I think nearly everyone was thinking that - pundits, fans, other teams' supporters, everyone. Goalkeeper would have been last on my list of upgrades last summer, but I'm pleased to say I was wrong on that.

Frankly I think they are still too expensive for most people up front. It's a lot cheaper to run if you can charge at home, but if you can't afford the extra £5k-£10k vs an equivalent petrol car then you're not going to buy it. New EVs in particular are overpriced IMO, whereas the used market is actually pretty good value right now. There's just no point in spending £37k-42k on a new Kia Niro EV when you can get a 3 year old model for £15k-20k that's just as good.

I think it's pretty clear that Jonas's recruitment has made the squad less diverse and this is a large part of the problem. Better scouting and a less manager-driven recruitment process would be nice.

I'm always suspicious of managers who seem to recruit from leagues they're familiar with or clubs they used to manage. Look at Ten Hag for Man Utd men's team, same problem that Jonas has.

Just been using it today since seeing this post - it's so much prettier than Jerboa (or any of the other apps, none of which I got along with), but it is still buggy and sometimes takes forever to load a post/page. Really looking forward to this app getting developed!

Thank goodness!

I've never been a fan of his football and I just can't see what he's trying to do at the club. Would rather have seen how this season played out. Silly time to announce it too tbh.

Possibly my favourite Arsenal player of all time. She just bleeds Arsenal. There are few more beautiful sights in football than watching Katie McCabe fly into a touchline 50/50.

YouTube's value to creators isn't just in hosting videos and sharing ad revenue. It's also in getting eyeballs onto the creator's content. Discovery is a huge part of YouTube's value proposition for creators, and that's not easily replicable on PeerTube. For a start, there are simply fewer eyeballs, but also as we all know, discovery on the fediverse is kind of hard. The YouTube algorithm serves a purpose for creators and is a huge part of the business model for creators that is very difficult to replicate.

Possibly a product of immigration. I know a guy from the US whose surname is "Supernaw". He told me that the original surname might have been a French one, something like "Surprenant", which the English-speaking immigration officials wrote down as "Supernaw". You can imagine how the conversation went right?

Something similar might have happened here, maybe an Eastern European surname like (completely made up example) "Godenov" got written down by English officials as "Goodenough".
