I do know one guy who went through with it simply because he thought that the thing that he invented was so cool that he couldn't stop working on it.

What's wrong with that? If it was commercially viable, then that's a great reason to make a startup.

And you can't even check what it's really doing on your computer because it's a crime under US law.

Is this specifically for kernel level anticheat? Because this isn't a thing for software in general right??

not good for the battery to use a device while its battery is charging.

Maybe because of the additional heat generation, but other than that there's no real reason issue with doing this. Even the heat generation is a non-issue for a mouse.

Damn where do I go to find these people irl

Tbh the removal of clickbait thumbnails made YouTube less enjoyable for me. I don't really watch those over the top clickbait youtubers anyway, so I've found that this isn't too big of a deal.

If Qualcomm released a FOSS RISC-V IP core that would've required spending multiple millions on hardware engineer salaries (no chance in hell), I would:

  1. Spontaneously ejaculate
  2. Pull out my FPGA
[โ€“] [email protected] 57 points 1 week ago (4 children)

takes this opportunity to develop a high performance RISC V core

They might. This would never be open sourced though. Best case scenario is the boost they would provide to the ISA as a whole by having a company as big as Qualcomm backing it.

Also imagine having a social media account actual tied to you irl

Nothing wrong with that, need to keep in touch with friends somehow.

Posting shit like this on a social media account tied to you irl is just being stupid, that's what burners are for. If I said shit like this to a higher up at a company that I just received an internship at (even somewhere with waaaay less prestige than NASA), I would not be expecting to keep that internship.
