Actually yeah. It feels like voice / videos were kind of tacked on. There isn't a really good web based chat tool that doesn't require some sign in and configuration. File transfer isn't like that and people can easily drop links to third party services in any chat.
It looks like the "S" key on your keyboard is broken.

To sign up for eBay. Now you can filter all of the garbage sent to that address easily! Bonus, you get to see who's selling your data which is always frustrating and entertaining.

In what context are you asking about the definition of a "member"? SDF has lots of different memberships. Lemmy, shell accounts, Mastodon, etc.

I think the "make a donation" button on the homepage will work to support pretty much anything the org needs. I've used it before for Mastodon upgrades and when they needed cash for them MetaArpa cluster upgrades.
But discord supports sending messages to people who are offline. It kind of breaks the paradigm if certain features require full synchronous communication. Maybe supporting p2p transfers during a video / voice chat would work though.
Now supports "mark read on scroll" if you like to keep the Frontpage fresh. So good!
One reason we care about this is because we can choose to or to not purchase small fractions of these public companies and become partial owners. This information is useful in making investment decisions.
