SIGH. "Max please stop goofing around doing rollercoaster hands down the main straight. Hands on the wheel at all times please..."

(next lap)

NYOOOOOOOOMMM

"BOTH. HANDS. On the wheel please Max. Waving at the pit wall is not better..."

Agreed, but that's not "all" the new regulations have done.

Unless you were being pusposefully hyperbolic, then I understamd your point - F1 has teetered on becoming a Law and Order spinoff since 2021.

Ferrari made too many mistakes in the last five years.

...I'd extend it thusly:

Set the tyre allocation for a weekend to exclude quali entirely, and for qualy give each driver two sets of tyres per qualy session like this based on championship standings:

1st - 3rd = C1 (Hardest)

4th - 7th = C2

8th - 11th = C3

12th - 14th = C4

15th - 17th = C5

18th - 20th = C6 (Softest)

This will give the resultant shakeup of qualy that people seem to like without feeling forced like a reverse grid.

Yes. But I foresee a Toto Directive being penned one of these days.

Additionally, looking at how Checo cuts through the field vs how Max cuts through the field I firmly believe that Max really is the speshul sauce that sets the RB apart from the rest.

It's the best car, for sure, but it isn't 30secs per race better than the field unless Max is driving it.

I'd pay real schmeckos to see Lando, Piastri, Russel, Fernando and Lewis do runs in it to get an average baseline of it's performance.

Like let Max, Lando, Piastri, Russel, Fernando and Lewis take the ten teams cars for a "road test" type showdown on a few different types of tracks and then give their verdict on the cars.

Suggested Epic level character:

Adrian Newy: Is an airbender.

Strengths: Might be the next avatar.

Weakness: Budget constraints.

Special: One of one, if you have him in your party you are basically guaranteed a campaign win.

"...paid him eighteen milyun to sit at home knuckle deep in his girlfriend..."

A true wordsmith.

As someone who has sat though years of Mercedes domination I am happy for a change of leadership. The past three seasons have been more exciting in general as well. Get back to me when Resbull wins the 8th consecutive constructors in 2029.

I wish they would give us the 360 camera feed to watch.

This is for Alpha Tauri, wasn't the Miami one for Red Bull?

Carlos bringing the DAD VOICE: "Tell me the other driver positions and their tires AND DO IT QUICKLY". Like a Red Foreman trying to figure out which of the kids in his basement smoked what at the water tower before he goes to explain to the cops waiting in the living room what's what.

I have a strong feeling Sainz is done. Look at Ferrari releasing them in the wrong order dur8ng quali and having him let Leclerc past in the pitlane before their outlap not once, but TWICE.

...and the Internet has the answers! This website has consecutive wins, races first to last, and number of laps led during the streak. Schumacher dominates the list with multiple entries.

Is the frosty treatment of Max by his race engineer a recemt thing, or am I only noticing it now?

I know Max said that if GP retires, he will stop racing, but it seems to me that GP has been less than diplomatic in his comms with Max this year.

Notable today was the "we all got that from your previous message" response to Max complaining about his tyres. Is it maybe a case of that's just what works between them?

I don't think I saw GP at the podium celebrations, but again it could just be me.

Would love some insight from you guys.

Ferrari really dropped all the balls this weekend. Sainz has been in the way of other drivers repeatedly, which falls on his engineer who should let him know when cars are coming. In rainy conditions the drivers can't see jack nothing in their mirrors and it's like Sainz was just left to his own devices by his engineer.

Honorable mention for Tsunoda doing his best mobile roadblock impression. Holy heck he was constantly in the way this weekend.

Then there is poor Leclerc. He asked for slicks, and his team overruled him and it caused him to be eliminated in Q2. How much longer can he stomach Ferrari incompetence before he starts putting feelers out for a drive elsewhere? As things are going at the Ferrari strategy desk it's clear the prancing horse has bolted the barn and his chances of getting a championship is in the low zeros.
