I really have to stop arguing political theory with little kids. It's bad for my blood pressure.

But just one more thing, how does anarchy protect minority groups from mob rule? How do you keep a smooth talking fascist from implementing a populist fascist movement? What does protection even mean in the context of anarchy? Or did you just watch batman too much and decided the joker was really cool?

You're correct. I conflated that time period. Obama pushed for and got sanctions against Russia. Then Trump said it was ok that Russia annexed crimea, undermined the sanctions, and removed talk of Ukraine sovereignty from the party platform.

My bad.

Yeah see how that turns out if the republicans win next election. They facilitate fascism by being the only alternative to actual fascist politicians. They certainly aren't perfect, but seriously how do you think it plays out if enough morons like you vote for Putin apologist Stein? What do you think the end result will be?

Oh damn. You're right. I'm a little more familiar with ben Gvir's history than the whole movement and conflated them. Looking into it, I have changed my stance. The military needs better separation of Torah and State. Also, ben Gvir and Otzma Yehudit are still just giant piles of shit.

I still have issues with much of the Haredi. Things like their iron grip on religious control in Israel, domestic abuse issues, cult like behavior, demanding special treatment, and feeding off of others to survive.

But yeah that isn't Otzma Yehudit. They're more of religious militants it seems. Certainly not helping the state of things. Doesn't help that the haredi groups and religious zionists easily form coalitions.

I suppose it doesn't. They could call a vote on it at any point. But I don't imagine they would unless provoked by a ruling. If they didn't want him to lose in a single state, they could call it now and those state cases would go away. If they are waiting for that, then they know it will be appealed and would likely wait for the SCOTUS. Because why not? Why spend that political capital when it is likely to be unnecessary. MAGA hurt them a lot in the midterms.

But you are right. They can technically call it. I should have been more clear. Given that they haven't yet, they are likely waiting for outcomes if they are going to at all. It's also possible that aside from the MAGA nutjob faithfuls (looking at you MTG) they really want him to be done. And even if they don't, to stop before it had a supreme court ruling would be basically admitting he was part of an insurrection, but you want to support him anyways.

This is a lie. Hamas won the vote. The EU, UN, and the Carter Center all called those elections free and fair. If anything, Hamas was an underdog given that Israel, in collaboration with Fatah, kept arresting the politicians in Hamas as they defined Hamas a terrorist organization. Fatah and Israel wanted to delay the elections, but with the encouragement of the US (GWB in particular who felt Hamas would definitely not win), they decided to keep them as they were. Stop making things up to fit your narrative. Hamas still typically wins the popular vote in polling done since then. You have a fucking computer. Just google it. It's all there in black and white.

I mean they did have conflicts with Fatah. But the biggest fights weren't until after they won the election.

I miss my life as it was before

This sucks. I'm a very pro-Israel person. I still don't want civilians to suffer. On the other hand, that before she mentions is before the government elected by people there perpetrated the third largest terrorist attack in history. It'd be real great if there were something ... Like... Soldiers to keep the peace maybe... That would guard things like fuel so it isn't stolen or hospitals so that hospitals built by say a union of nations or something aren't used in rocket attacks.

I miss the days when a 2 state solution seemed imminent. Gaza being demobilized was supposed to be a stepping stone to exactly that.

Do you know what ethnic cleaning means? That it is different from genocide. Genocide is a method of ethnic cleansing, but not all ethnic cleansing is genocide. For example, Gaza did experience ethnic cleansing when Israel agreed to demilitarize the area and remove all settlements. All the Jews were forced out and it became essentially completely Arab.

A peace deals that involves land swaps can be considered ethnic cleansing. But it doesn't involve killing anyone. What is happening is a fucking war. It is between an underdeveloped region and a very developed nation, but it is war. And you can absolutely bring up war crimes, rules of engagement, etc. But at least know what those things mean.

How would Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim brotherhood, possibly create a secular united Palestine?

My favorite thing here is that in the thumbnail it looks like that guy in the background is blowing into a giant iphone.

I'm more of a do all side quests and dlc (because I'm a patient gamer) so that at the end I'm so overpowered the final boss doesn't stand a chance type of player.
