I used Jottacloud in 2016-2017 and loved it. A couple of months ago I started using Proton which has photos backup+cloud just like Jottacloud but more recently I started self hosting Immich and I love it!
Sounds a lot like my previous job ๐
Been running Immich at home on a raspberry pi via tailscale for over a month now and honestly it's better than I thought. I had some doubts at first about the difficulty of setting it up and the time it would take for it to parse all my photos and ease of use and stuff like thatbut it's been really great.
Where're you headed?

This lady right here.
Came here to say the same thing.
Holy shit. I think this is the best comment I have ever read in my entire life. I've been complaining about the exact same things to my IRL peers and they all think I'm nuts for having these "beliefs". Especially the one about recycling.
This is depressing :(
Firefly all the way!
I feel like that about 2016. I'm telling you, it all started with Harambe. It all went downhill from there XD

Mainly the beauty of selfhosting. Also it has map features if your photos are geotagged, also facial recognition so you can categorize/group photos by people's faces. Also it gives you memories for any specific day.
