I have no idea. Could be because you turned away or the movement attracted notice, or you were just directly in sight of the single brain cell.

That’s concerning. Fingers crossed that it’s all okay 🤞It’s also really poor that the assault wasn’t recorded. I’m hoping he gets a kick in the arse and winds up with a headache of his own.

Mine got stolen

Another good trick is to stand a front loading carrier on the back end and lower them in. It’s a bit harder for them to get straight out if you’re quick

It just sounds like a warm version of (usually chilled) hwachae

It’s over Raven! I have the high ground!

Ah yes. Melbcat loves shredding cardboard

[-] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

That’s nuts. I’m glad you got out of there.

Really not good about the blow to the head though, I agree with everyone else to be very careful about that. Fingers crossed that nothing serious has happened.

Maybe a cardboard box to hide in and peep out of

Have you tried the bird videos? I’ve put them on for Melbcat before but she didn’t seem to be too interested

I used to like looking at them on walks but never dared to pick any for consumption. That’s a specialist skill and a high cost to being wrong.

I did once grow some of a safe variety from mycelium though (grow kit).

Ughhh. Why am I such a pack rat. I need to find the energy or the discipline to get more organised.

Might go through a storage bag of ‘nice’ (aka seldom worn) clothes and cull most of the dresses. Inexpensive Kmarget brands and possibly a little dated but they’re still fairly new and nice enough in style that they might be taken by somewhere that gives women clothes for work.

There are some gardening books about building garden beds but quite honestly I don’t think I’m physically up to diy right now. A friend’s kid might like to have them (grandpa could help).

Shredding of paperwork will continue.

I’m mentally earmarking some other things to sell.

Amazon is evil but I am not going to get around to sawing the litterboxes down… I managed to find some with a really low side entrance made for senior cats. Fingers crossed that helps.

We’re going back to the vet soon to get a urine draw to figure out whether these antibiotics are working.

This is more of a winter meal but is fairly cheap with mince, bread and eggs. Also one pot

I got eaten alive taking out the bins and there wasn’t any Stingose in my first aid box. I washed the bites clean with soapy water in the shower then dabbed the roll on over and let it dry.

It seemed to help a little. Temporarily. It’s absolutely not the right type of aluminium (Stingose contains aluminium sulfate) but it’s alright when you don’t have or can’t afford anything else.

I have sweet blood and an allergy to mozzie saliva so have now added a tube of Stingose gel to my usual shop.

Have you found a good bargain lately, made a repair, or figured out something that works for you?

This is also for any topic requests, suggestions, or tips that might not require their own thread.

It’s coming into Summer, getting hot and sunny. I better get my cherry tomatoes and pumpkins going if it’s not already too late. And keep watering the zucchini.

In the hotter weather what do you have planned for your landscape, pots, patch, window box - or even the lone houseplant/cactus in your apartment?

Saving this for later. I’ve already found some whiteflies on my zucchini and I’ll be dealing with it on my planned pumpkins too.

I knew zucchini and pumpkin weren’t good companions but thought it’d be alright since they both take the full sun of my spot and separate pots would prevent them from competing for nutrients. I could even give both frequent Powerfeed at the same time.

But the downside is attracting the same kinds of pest. At least I can try the same methods to cover both of them.

I’m not sure about the soapy water though as apparently it can damage the leaves.

I have seen a few ladybirds before but not many and have since trimmed the grass. And I don’t know which kind of ladybird it was. Maybe if the pest problem gets bad I could buy and release more ladybirds

If you see this in time give your plants a good deep water while the morning is still cool, or do anything else you need to do to protect them.

There are some nice cool drink recipes in there like iced tea, London Fog, Magic Milkshakes that can be made without icecream, and watermelon coolers etc.

The site has a lot of nice scratch recipes in general but it is American so be aware of Freedom Units.
